Yom Kippur VASSAL Module

I've been using kishel's excellent VASSAL module for playing Yom Kippur which provides all the functionality required but I have also added a few minor features that help me during set up and with some of the game mechanics.

The following is a short description of what is new in version 2.2 Branch 1 (available here):
  • The pieces window has been reorganized so it requires less clicks to locate the counters
  •
Fig 1 - Reorganized Pieces Window

  • Disorganized and Out of Supply markers can be placed on top of any stack using available menu options and keyboard shortcuts
  •

Fig 2 - Out of Supply and Disorganized Marker Placement Options

  • Long range artillery and SAM units now have a Show Area menu option and keyboard shortcut that shades hexes within range of the battery saving you from some boring hex counting

Fig 3 - Show Area Option
  • A button (Egypt Tanks) has been added to the main window that shows Egyptian armor units that could receive a Tank Step Replacement so you don't miss one of them hidden at the bottom of a stack
  •

  • Since the Israeli player may rebuild destroyed armor unts we have added a Dead Armor window and the option to send IDF armor units there to help you keep track of which units are available for rebuild
  •

  • A couple of buttons have been added to the Main Map window that take care of the Clean Up phases by removing Egyptian DG markers (Egypt Clean Up) or IDF DG markers and Air units assigned to SAM suppression (IDF Clean Up)
  •
Fig 6 - Clean Up Helper Buttons

  • Another button has been added to the Main Map window that will toggle the Show Area (see above) option of all Egyptian SAM units on board so you can have a quick view of where airborne operations may take place
  • Fig 7 - Toggle Egpt SAM Coverage Area
  • Originally the Mark as Moved and Step Loss actions had the same keyboard shortcut (Ctrl M)which caused some unexpected behaviors, so we changed the Step Loss to Ctrl H (it can be seen on Fig 2)
  • We also added some regions to the main board so when you drop a counter on the turn track, the Air unit boxes and the Egypt Tank Replacement box the counter snaps nicely into it
This is the end of Version 2.2 Branch 1 feature list

  1. My downloaded Batch 1 file does not permit the SAM radii nor OOS/Disorganized feature.
